WWII Haikus
We had to write them in history class. They’re from the perspective of a teenage Japanese-American at the time, except for the last one.
Betrayle. Confused.
Everything revoked from me.
Whisked away from life.
Little lost dolly
of a child long gone is here.
Where did it’s home go?
Blinded by the storm.
Whispers of death around me,
Will God spare me now?
Intentions gone wrong.
Punishment not fully earned.
Can we right our wrongs?
